Seymour Dental Filings, Decay, micro dentistry, North Vancouver, Parkgate plaza

Tooth Structure

At Seymour Dental Dr.Lee makes sure to preserve as much of the tooth structure as possible when doing a filing. Alot of times dentist will take out a whole wall or cusp of a tooth where the decay is located. Depending on how severe the decay is it is not always necessary. Dr. Lee has micro burs and instruments he uses so he is able to get in at the decay and remove it without taking to much of the tooth structure away. When to much tooth structure is taken away and replaced with filing material this gives the tooth a bigger chance of breaking or fracturing.
The technique Dr.Lee uses to do this he calls the "tunnel technique", where he uses a micro specialty bur and goes in to the area of decay with taking minimal tooth structure away. The tooh will have its original shape and structure and be less sensitive since he preserves as much as enamel as possible. Enamel is the strongest natural material so why not just keep that!

If you are looking for a dentist who does conservative dentistry please come in and see Dr.Lee!
